() Former President Donald Trump on Thursday attacked New York Attorney General Letitia James amid an ongoing fraud trial in New York where he is accused of defrauding banks and insurers by inflating the values of his properties.

Trump posted clips on his social media platform from a 2018 video in which James calls him an โ€œillegitimate presidentโ€ and promises to sue him if elected.

โ€œAmerica is in uncharted territory. We are angrier and more divided than we have ever been at any point in our history since the Civil War,โ€ James said in the video.

โ€œAt the eye of the storm is Donald Trump, ripping families apart, threatening womenโ€™s most basic rights,โ€ she continued. โ€œIโ€™m running for attorney general because I will never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president.โ€

Trump also shared other campaign clips of James in which she says sheโ€™ll sue him if elected.

Trump, the frontrunner for the GOP nomination, has denounced his legal trials in New York, Georgia, Florida and Washington D.C. asย  โ€œwitch huntsโ€ designed to interfere with the 2024 election.

The New York bench trial, which will be decided by leftist Judge Arthur Engoron, alleges conspiracy, insurance fraud and falsifying business records.

James is seeking $250 million in penalties and wants to ban Trump from doing business in New York.
