(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) New York City Mayor Eric Adams offered one of his most candid and dire assessments yet of the havoc that the Biden administration’s open-border policy was wreaking on the nation’s biggest city, prompting fellow Democrats to lash out in righteous indignation.
I have seen the Eric Adams clip claiming migrants will destroy New York City. It is awful. There is a reason why Republicans and far right folks are gleefully sharing it.

Doubling down on his previous criticisms, the mayor—who campaigned on a tough-on-crime platform only to be hamstrung by the massive influx of transient non-citizens—went on a tear, noting that New York cannot survive if the current border crisis continues , the New York Post reported.
“I’m gonna tell you something, New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem that I didn’t see an ending to,” Adams said Wednesday at a town-hall event.
“I don’t see an ending to this,” he continued. “This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City.”
According to the embattled mayor, the Biden administration has both caused the problem and refused to help smaller political entities resolve the crisis.
“Month after month I stood up and said this is gonna come to a neighborhood near you,” Adams said. “Well, we’re here, we’re getting no support on this national crisis, and we’re receiving no support.”
For good measure, the Democrat mayor was sure to take a few shots at those on the Right, calling Texas Gov. Greg Abbott a “madman” for busing illegal immigrants to his “sanctuary city”—despite the fact that Adams, himself, has hypocritically been busing them into neighboring suburban regions that are even less equipped to deal with the problem.
The mayor, who is black, also appeared to lament the fact that there will be too much diversity in the Big Apple.
“Now we’re getting Western Africa, now we’re getting people from all over the globe that made their minds up that they’re gonna come through the southern part of the border and coming into New York City and everyone is saying it’s New York City’s problem,” he said. “Every community in this city is going to be impacted.”
Making matters worse, he reported that the city could be in the hole $12 billion over the next three years if the state and federal governments do not assist.
“The city we knew, we’re about to lose, and we are all in this together, all of us,” he said.
The influx follows a mass exodus of wealthy New Yorkers that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, partially due to the oppressive lockdown policies of his predecessor, Bill de Blasio, and then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, as well as the Trump administration’s closure of state and local tax loopholes that allowed wealthy New York residents to write off massive deductions on their federal returns.
