How to Set Up Volume Profile on Your Charts

How to Set Up Volume Profile on Your Charts

A question that’s come up a lot recently is how to set up the volume profile on your charts.

I’ve got you, Baby.

It’s easy peasy lemon squeezy.

It’s a bit different for each charting platform, so let me show you a couple of options using the SPY chart as an example…

Quick Tip: Volume Profile is an overlay. Whatever charting software or platform you’re using, overlays is your first place to look.

You can add north of 25 overlays on your charts.

Don’t do that.

We only care about one indicator. You know the one, Baby.

The Volume Profile!

Volume Profile On StockCharts.com:

This is what the SPY chart looks like before you add any overlays.

Scroll down to the Overlays section. The one I’m pointing to with those two perfectly drawn burgundy arrows.

On that third line, where it says “- None -”, click on the drop down menu and then select “Volume By Price.”

Hit “Update” and your chart will refresh to show this beauty on the left…

There’s only one thing prettier than that… profits pouring into our portfolios and bank accounts!

Notice that next to your overlay is an entry field for “Parameters.” You can leave this empty… or set it to the parameter of your choice.

And that’s it. You’re all set to make it rain dollars.

Here’s another one…

Volume Profile On Tradingview:

Again, SPY chart. For this one, look at the very top bar, above the chart. You’ll see the word “Indicators.”

That’s the one you want.

Select the Volume Profile Tab and “Session Volume Profile” script name.

And Bob’s your uncle!

Let’s do one more…

Volume Profile On Yahoo!Finance:

Navigate to the SPY chart, find the “indicators” tab on the top, left corner, find “volume profile” and you’re set.

It’s basically the same process across all the platforms.

There you have it, my Fam Jam!

Volume profile with just three clicks.
